Mission

The Massachusetts Coalition for Oral Health (MCOH) is an organization dedicated to improving the oral health of the residents of Massachusetts through the use of effective, community-based oral health education and preventive measures.

  • Oral health professionals and community partners formed the Coalition, located at 465 Medford Street in Boston, Massachusetts in 1999.
  • The purpose of the Massachusetts Coalition for Oral Health is to promote scientifically based community preventive measures that can improve the oral health for all Massachusetts residents.

How the Coalition can help you:

  • Technical support to communities interested in educating their citizens about the public health advantages of community water fluoridation.
  • Informational materials and presentations, about the benefits of fluoridation for optimal oral health, to local Boards of Health and residents of the Commonwealth.
  • Dental sealant program assistance for communities in Massachusetts.
  • Technical assistance for other community-based oral health preventive measures.

The Massachusetts Special Legislative Commission on Oral Health
MCOH members participated in the Massachusetts Special Legislative Commission on Oral Health. In its February 2000 report, The Oral Health Crisis in Massachusetts, the Commission recommended increased access to community water fluoridation and dental sealants as a way to improve the oral health of the residents of Massachusetts.
